Mahindra kicks off 2024 with a bang, launching their much-anticipated Bolero Neo+ – a 9-seater SUV built for those who crave space and practicality.

Pricing and Variants:

The Bolero Neo+ comes in two variants: P4 and P10. The base P4 variant starts at a competitive Rs 13.57 lakh (on-road, Mumbai), while the top-of-the-line P10 variant reaches Rs 14.88 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). This positions the Bolero Neo+ as an attractive option for those seeking a spacious yet affordable SUV.

Power Under the Hood:

Unlike its 7-seater sibling, the Bolero Neo+, gets a significant upgrade under the hood. It boasts a powerful 2.2-liter diesel engine churning out 118 bhp and a hefty 280 Nm of peak torque. This muscular engine pairs with a 6-speed manual gearbox, sending power to the rear wheels. The trusty ladder-on-frame construction ensures robust off-road capability, making the Bolero Neo+ a capable companion for any adventure.

Designed for Maximum Occupancy:

To accommodate the additional passengers, Mahindra has stretched the Bolero Neo+ by a substantial 405mm compared to the standard model. However, the wheelbase remains the same at 2680mm. The recognizable front grille, headlamps, and bumpers from the Bolero Neo carry over to the Neo+, while the side profile showcases the biggest change. The extended length seamlessly integrates the extra row of seating. The rear design stays true to the Bolero Neo’s familiar look.

Interior Space and Features:

While the overall dashboard layout remains unchanged, the seating configuration takes center stage. The Bolero Neo+ offers a versatile 2+3+4 seating arrangement, perfect for large families or those who frequently transport passengers. The first row features two comfortable seats, followed by a conventional three-seater second row. The third row boasts two jump seats, providing additional passenger capacity when needed.

On the features front, the Bolero Neo+ gets a decent equipment list. A 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth connectivity keeps passengers entertained. Additional features include an anti-glare IRVM for improved nighttime visibility, electrically adjustable ORVMs for added convenience, a height-adjustable driver’s seat for optimal comfort, and power windows and armrests for a touch of luxury.

The Verdict:

The Mahindra Bolero Neo+ emerges as a compelling proposition for those seeking a spacious, reliable, and value-oriented 9-seater SUV. With its powerful engine, rugged build, and practical features, the Bolero Neo+ is poised to carve its niche in the ever-growing SUV segment.
